On 03/05/2009 a wonderful human being became Oakland's 11th murdered person.
Many wonderful things can be said about this big, muscled, handsom, smart, caring, creative, and more person.

From what I can gleen from the news, he was attacked, beaten and then left for dead.

Milk Movie

I got to attend a movie premiere of "Milk". I had never been to anything like this. Red carpets, security guards, elbow rubbing with big-wigs, etc. It was at the Castro Theatre in SF. Sean Penn stars as Harvey Milk. Before I go into who Harvey was, I want to say that Sean Penn went from being a "Celebrity" to an "Actor" in my mind. The man actually has acting skill.

Harvey Milk was a local SF politician and gay activist. As the US's first openly gay official elected to office, he helped push through gay rights laws and helped defeat Anita Bryant's anti-gay initiative. Unfortunately one of the other supervisors was a conservitive nut job by the name of Dan White. After loosing his job at city hall, he showed up and shot Mayor Moscone and Harvey Milk in cold blood. He managed to get off with a light sentance because he ate a twinky and had blood sugar problems. The "Twinkie Defense" and ruling touched off the White Night Riots in SF. After being released from prison, Dan White commited suicide. Harvey Milk is a hero to SF and to the larger gay community.

If you get the opportunity to go see the movie "MILK", I highly recommend it, especially if you don't know much about the man. Good movie...no matter if you are straight or gay.

The merging of the ashes of John Burnside and Hairy Hay. In a gay community cheated out of most of it's elders by a horrid plague, it is always sad to see one go.

Every time I hear a gay man gripe about getting old, I have to remind them how many of our peers... didn't get the chance.

The main part of this post is to other second lifers. You don't need to own land to sell your creations. They will let you have a box to put your stuff in. This box can be anywhere that you are allowed to run scripts (and have permission to put it there). Rental land, etc. If not, xStreet will also work with you to host a box on thier island.

With xStreet, you just take the item for sale, put it in a box. Take a snapshot. Go play with Gimp / Pornoshop / PaintShop Pro, etc. Go to website. Edit items, goto the item in your box. Fill out a form with information like price, category, description. THE PHOTO IS REQUIRED. Sit back.

If your prices are good, you will get sales. It is best to browse around and find out what similar products are selling for, and how other merchants are pricing. Under Pricing is sometimes just as bad. (shoddy merchant-dice?)

Beware trying to re-sell other merchant's items (without explicit permissions and reference in the descriptions) as it is a common scam and easily spotted.

Like a lot of things, image is everything so watch your spelling in product descriptions.

The forums are a great place to advertize your products, but be SURE to put them in the right spot. General is not the place to advertize your event,product,or service.

However the REAL make or break on xStreet is your customer service. Customers can leave feedback on your items... and other customers listen.

I was in the $1 store. I saw this and had to share with everyone.



I added the "Now with more Mercat" just for those who don't get it the horrid images this product creates. I wish I had my camera with me because the cereal came in a wide variety of packaging including underwater etc.

Animal crackers are time honored tradition. However when properly crunched with a proper amount of imagination I can defeat Lions, Tigers and Bears (Oh My!). Visualizing chewing small cute animals like Mercats takes all the fun out of it.
